Dear Prospective Exhibitor and/or CAL Corporate Member:

The theme of this year’s Colorado Association of Libraries Conference is Rockin’ with Colorado Libraries: Takin’ Care of Business! Whether that makes you think of Elvis, or Bachman Turner Overdrive, or Aretha Franklin, you can plan on having some serious fun this year with our attendees!

The conference is confirmed for Nov. 10-13 at the Marriott Tech Center in Denver, Colorado. This year, the All-Conference Reception will be part of the Exhibits Grand Opening, Thurs., Nov. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. Exhibitors and attendees will gain two additional hours of no-conflict time following our conference kick-off speaker. The Denver Tech Center location proved to be very popular last year with attendees, and we expect 1,200 school, public, academic, and special librarians to return in 2005.

Set-up time begins on Thurs., Nov. 10, at noon, and continues through 4 p.m. Exhibits Grand Opening is 4 to 6 p.m. in the Exhibits Hall, featuring Happy Hour snacks and a cash bar. Exhibits reopen on Friday at 8 a.m., with a no-conflict coffee hour. The exhibit day closes at 5:30 p.m., with 4 p.m. until close being another no-conflict Happy Hour for attendees. A “Dinner Date with Comedy” picks up after the exhibits close, and a sock hop follows that evening from 8 to10 p.m., so be sure to pack your bobbie socks, too. Exhibits open on Saturday at 8 a.m. with a no-conflict coffee hour, and close at noon. The popular Book Bash, featuring regional authors, is the Saturday evening closer. Sunday morning’s brunch will be highlighted by a keynote speaker who wraps up CAL ’05 at our annual brunch event.

We need your support for many of these events, particularly those that help us draw more attendees into the exhibit hall and into your booth. CAL can help you with pre-conference membership/attendee mailings, program advertising, and Rockin’ with Colorado Libraries event sponsorship choices. Click here for a complete list of opportunities. Sponsorship Chair Brenda Bailey-Hainer would be delighted to hear from you.

Please see the space application and floor plan for more details. All decorating and utility forms will be provided in exhibitor kits, sent after receipt of a complete application with payment. The Evergreen exhibit hall will be locked at night and there will be hotel security to keep your materials safe. Space is limited -- only 84 8' x 8' booth spaces, so get your application in as soon as possible!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me, or CAL Executive Director Kathleen Noland at kathleen@cal-webs.org.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at CAL ’05, November 10-13 -- Rockin’ with Colorado Libraries: Takin’ Care of Business!

Sincerely,
Dodie Ownes, MLS
