Call for Poster Sessions - Conference 2005
The CAL Poster Sessions will be offered in several one-hour sessions on Friday (11 a.m. to noon, 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., and 3 to 4 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m. to noon)
Each participant (limited to 20 participants per session) will have a six foot table. You may use the table to display a poster board (free standing; available in colors for about $10 at office supply stores) or any other appropriate display you can fit on the table.
No equipment will be provided, but you may bring your own. You should be able to reach an electrical outlet with an extension cord.
Attendees will receive a list of participants with the title of your presentation, a brief description, and your name and contact information. Generally attendees browse through the tables then pick up handouts and stop to visit when a topic catches their interest. Last year, around
100 people attended each poster session. You need to bring you own handouts. It is a good way to be exposed to a lot of information in a short time. It is much like a mini-exhibit.
Participants should be prepared to set up and fold up their displays quickly. In some cases there is only 15 minutes between poster sessions. We are lucky to be able to offer tables; often poster sessions provide only an easel -- thus, the term "Poster Session" meant only a poster.
