In the fall of 2008, a CAL Awards Task Force was organized to revise the list of awards. The Task Force was able to reduce the number of awards that the CAL Awards Committee selects from 19 to 9. This revised list allows the committee to be more selective because there are more nominations in each category. Also, the new list of awards is more inclusive because the categories are not limited to certain types of libraries or librarians.
