Mission
Our intended audience for the group is new professionals (those currently attending or recently graduated from an LIS program), shifting professionals (those who are transitioning within the library field), anyone new to library work, and mentors (those who wish to share their experience and wisdom). All library staff or library-related staff are welcome. Our purpose is to support new professionals by offering opportunities to network, socialize, and gain professional development through events and mentoring. We plan to offer quarterly social events, professional development opportunities through webinars and online discussion, and to help new professionals transition into mentor positions.  If you’d be interested in joining the CAL NPIG, or offering your experience as a mentor, please email Kristen Bodine at kristen.a.bodine@gmail.com. You can also find us on LinkedIn or Facebook.
